What have you learned from your audience feedback ?
For our A2 coursework we were assigned the tasks to create a one minute long Horror Teaser Trailer - of any horror sub-genre of our choice, a Magazine Front Cover to go along with the trailer, and a Film Poster. All 3 tasks are now completed and we have now moved on to our final stage of the coursework which is the Evaluation stage. This section of the Evaluation stage will focus on Audience feedback. Audience feedback is one of the most important factors or research when it comes to media related work, e.g. Movies, TV Shows. The reason being is because it is the audience who are the consumers and if we cannot make what we are creating relatable to the audience then we will not have a target audience.
Methods Used and Why :

iMessage is an Instant Messenger service provided and developed by Apple. It is restricted to Apple only products using the software iOS 5 or later versions e.g. iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Mac computers. Seeing that in this day most people have iPhone's as it is a trendy user friendly product it is palpable that we use it in conducting our audience feedback.

Whatsapp Messenger is a cross-platform messaging subscription service for smartphones with internet access. Unlike iMessage it is cross platform and can be used for Android's, Nokia's and iPhone's alike. In addition to text messaging users can also send images, videos and audio messages.

Instagram is an online social network which allows users to share photos and post fifteen second videos. Instagram users can then share their picture on a variety of social networking services e.g. Facebook and Twitter. It can be accessed via the app or online.

Snapchat is a photo-messaging app. Using the app users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings and send them to a list of recipients.

Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read 'tweets' which are text messages limited to 140 characters. Like Instagram, Twitter can be accessed online through a webpage or downloadable trough a app.

YouTube is a video-sharing website. It allows users to upload and view videos. It can be accessed via the web or by downloading the app. Users can also share the videos they have viewed on social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

PollDaddy is a website where you can create polls, surveys, ad and quizzes alike all for free. It is very useful and we will be able to use it to quiz audience on what they liked about our products.
Who Are Our Target Audience ?

Before we were able to start it was vitally important that we reminded ourselves who our target audience were. In the pre-production stage we decide that due to our products being horror themed we had to target a certain audience which of course were not a very young audience but a more matured audience who were still quite young. Bearing this in mind we targeted our products at early/late teens to young adults ranging from 17-25, and we would target both genders.
Looking at the trailer demographic results on YouTube i can see that most of the viewers were from the United Kingdom (98%). This is disappointing for us because we were expecting a more diverse range of people watching the trailer especially because of the power of the internet. This goes to show that you need good advertising.
The other results from the video i gathered is the devices that people played the video on. This was quite diverse, some people watched the trailer on their tablet, some on their mobile phone and most on computers.

According to the feedback that was received the audience thought that our poster displayed common conventions for a poster 2 respondents voted that the main image was the convention they noticed first on the poster. This is due the image used being quite large and well edited and this helped it to be an effective poster. However one of our respondents was not sure of the sub genre of the trailer and thought it was super normal but the others got it spot on with it being a slasher. Overall i believe the results we received were positive and contained constructive criticism.

The feedback for the magazine was very strong, probably the strongest feedback out of our 3 final products. This is due to the audiences finding the colours used in the magazine colourful and engaging, which is important when designing magazines because on a shelf with different magazines you are going to look for the one with bold colours that catches your eye and we believe that our magazine does that.

Reaction videos
We were able to get some members of audience to watch "The Invite" trailer for and catch their facial expressions whilst watching it. Here are some of the reactions we received.

From these reaction videos we could see some of the reactions which looked quite surprised because of the gruesome slasher element to our trailer which is what we were trying to achieve.
As the trailer went on the tension increased and so did the pace of the trailer and that was a key strong point for our trailer which also helped in terrifying our audience.

YouTube Statistics

YouTube was used to display our final Horror trailer as well as other important logs. As well as putting them up YouTube allows us to view data and statistics. From his screenshot you can see that on our Horror Movie Trailer we got 81 views as of Friday 9th January, 11:35 am. This is quite good considering there was no advertising or online marketing which would of attracted a larger audience.
Overall Conclusion
This is the end of the audience feedback section and all data has been completed. By carrying our the question "What have you learned from your audience feedback ?" we were able to see what we had learnt from the feedback from the audience and also we were able to see how successful our final products were. In what ways were they effective and in what ways we could have improved our final products.

To sum this experience up, overall this has been a very fun and beneficial experience for Skeleton Works as a group. Over the lengthy time span we have acquired new skills which would definitely be useful to implement in various different stages of our life. As well as being beneficial this has been a positive experience for us and we believe that we worked well as a group in order to achieve our objectives which were to create our final products successfully.
